A.P.O.Y.O.

Assistance Program Orienting Young Adult, Onward

Consejo provides trauma-informed care intervention, system navigation, and case management services, which provide clients with the ability to break the revolving door’s cycle and feel empowered and supported.

The A.P.O.Y.O Program is available for 15-24 year old Latinx and BIPOC youth who have been negatively impacted, directly or indirectly, by the criminal or legal system. This includes individuals who have spent time in correctional facilities, have had conflicts with the police or immigration, or have had family or loved ones incarcerated.

System Navigation:
The program’s goal is to prepare individuals and families to successfully navigate the systems that can affect their lives, such as:

  • Criminal Justice involvement
  • Access to higher education
  • Inability to obtain housing
  • Immigration
  • Gain physical and behavioral health
  • Acquire employment and training
  • Ingress emergency response
  • Retrieve child & social welfare


Trauma Intervention:

  • Specific trauma intervention activities provided by A.P.O.Y.O. include:
  • Outpatient behavioral health services
  • Support groups
  • Peer mentoring, giving back and service opportunities

A.M.O.R

Assistance, Mentoring, and Outreach & Re-entry

The A.M.O.R. program helps the Latinx and BIPOC youths aged 14-24 years old who are incarcerated, transitioning back to society, or harmed by the criminal justice system. The Amor program provides services at the King County detention center and the Seattle community. We utilize a hard reduction and motivational interviewing approach.

Our Program:

The AMOR program prepares youths and young adults for success. The program provides skill-building opportunities for
education and supports young adults in overcoming systemic oppression and disparities. Our approach and interventions inspires young adults to achieve their personal goals and
aspirations.
