domestic violence services

Our bilingual, advocacy-based counseling helps survivors overcome barriers that keep them from achieving their safety and recovery.

The Consejo Domestic Violence Program works closely with survivors and their families to provide legal support and advocacy-based counseling to overcome barriers that keep victims from achieving their safety goals. We understand that many victims are in high-risk situations and may be managing life-threatening circumstances. The domestic violence team provides culturally and linguistically trauma-informed intervention, prevention, and outreach services for non- or limited-English proficient Latinx survivors.

Services include transitional housing, meeting all basic needs, individual and family therapy, peer group counseling as well as bilingual and bicultural, and step-by-step guidance to help navigate legal systems that ensure protection orders are in place and enforced by the law. Many domestic violence victims are unaware of all the civil and criminal legal protections they may be entitled to. Consejo is the first and foremost agency in Washington State providing Latinx survivors and their children with legal support from domestic and sexual violence or assault, stalking, emotional or verbal abuse or threats from current or former spouses, partners, parents, family members or intimate and/or dating partners.
