Kara Chambers de Yaris, LSWAIC, is a Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor and therapist at Consejo. Kara holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington with a specialization in Community-Centered Integrative Practice and a traineeship focused on social work practice with the Latinx community. Kara’s work as a social change practitioner centers on reflexive, trauma-informed, and culturally-responsive engagement from the individual to the community and systems levels. Prior to her current position at Consejo, she worked as Program Coordinator at a non-profit in Bolivia, accompanying those impacted by sexual exploitation and trauma on the journey to holistic well-being. Kara’s clinical specialty focuses on trauma-focused restoration for survivors of gender-based violence. She is currently working towards a certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
